The Haxnicks story begins – as one might expect – in a garden. Not just any garden, but Grandpa Haxnicks's own. He was pottering around in his garden with his grandson when Grandpa Haxnicks suddenly picked up one of Grandpa Haxnicks's last original Victorian glass cloches to ask what it was for – and clumsily dropped it, causing it to break. Grandpa Haxnicks took it in stride and explained to his grandson that the curved shape of the cloche would better capture sunlight, allowing plants to grow better. He also told him that it would be impossible to ever buy another glass cloche. A few years later, Grandpa Haxnicks decided to please his grandpa and made him some plastic ones – more practical and less breakable. Grandpa Haxnicks was thrilled, and soon they began making these bells for others as well.
Since then, Haxnicks has been producing and selling gardening aids and planting solutions at affordable prices. All products are extremely robust and designed to be of great help to gardeners for as long as possible. In the years that followed, successful and original products such as the "Easy Tunnel" were added. Haxnicks is now part of the British company Tildenet.
