The Caucasian Masterwort (Astrantia maxima) captivates with its delicate pink flowers with a hint of creamy white, resembling delicate stars. The airy flower clusters appear from June to August and are a magnet for bees and butterflies. Reaching a height of approximately 60 cm, this perennial is ideal for partially shaded areas of the garden and also adds a special touch to natural-looking beds or flower arrangements.
The Astrantia maxima adds subtle elegance to any garden and is a highlight for romantic and natural plantings. Its unusual flower structure also makes it a popular star in floristry.

Growing tips: Sowing should initially take place for 2–4 weeks at temperatures of approximately 18–22 °C and should be kept well moist. A cold period of 4–6 weeks at -4 to +4 °C is then required to promote germination. After this period, the temperature should remain at 5–12 °C until germination is complete. A partially shaded location with humus-rich, moist soil is ideal. After flowering, it's recommended to cut back the faded stems to strengthen the plant.
