Winter sayings and poems
When the ice crystals glisten in the light, all of nature seems to be asleep in winter. During the short days, we find peace, make plans for the new gardening year, and look forward to warmer times. Our collection of winter poetry poetically captures this mood.

Winter warmth
With burning lips,
under an ice-blue sky,
through the glittering morning,
in my garden,
I breathe a song to you, cold sun.
All the trees seem to be in bloom;
from the frost-covered branches
your morning wind blows
shimmering flakes down,
like spring dazzle;
Thank you!
On the edge of my roof hangs
Icicles next to cones,
rigid;
they start to melt.
Drop upon drop flashes,
each one incomparable to the other,
into my heart.
Richard Fedor Leopold Dehmel
Anyone who enjoys the sun in summer,
carries her in his heart in winter.
Rainer Haak

Winter has come
the grove has fallen silent;
Now we should be in the room
enjoy a little song.
That glitters and shimmers
And shines so white.
It reflects the sun
In the sparkling ice.
We glide over it
On gleaming steel.
And tobogganing and cheering
From the hill to the valley.
And as evening falls,
go home cheering
into the cozy little room
for a baked apple feast.
