Get to the pots!

To kick off the gardening season, you need plenty of empty pots for sowing, pricking out, and potting up the first small spring bloomers, and of course, the larger ones too. To ensure our beloved plants all get off to a good start and don't have to deal with "legacy" from the previous year, like limescale or pathogens, it's time to clean the pots!

Remove any soil residue with a coarse brush or a special pot brush. If limescale deposits are too intense to even create a beautiful patina, tackle the limescale with a vinegar and water solution (citric acid also works well). It's best to let the pots soak in a bucket overnight. The next day, the limescale can be easily removed with a brush.
