The semi-double to double flowers of the 'Sahara' coneflower offer an extravagant color range from caramel and copper to pink. This annual is a stunning, long-blooming summer flower that's ideal for cutting. The faded heads should be removed regularly to ensure abundant re-bloom well into autumn. Details : Sowing indoors/greenhouse: March Sowing outdoors: From April to June Sowing depth: 1 cm Germination time: 15-20 days Height: 60 cm Planting distance: 30 cm Flowering time: July-October Location: Sunny/partial shade Growing tips : The rough coneflower is a cool flower (cold germinator) and requires a cold stimulus. Sowing in the fall results in early flowering the following year. The seeds can also be started in a warmer environment (18-20ºC) starting in March, and planted outdoors starting in late May. They need light to germinate and should therefore only be covered with soil. Keep slightly moist, but not too wet! After the last frosts from around mid-May, it is also possible to sow the seeds directly outdoors.
