Growing tips: The pre-grown plants should not be planted outdoors until after the last frost. Regular pruning promotes growth and can extend the flowering window. With regular watering, zinnias are easy-care plants. Once the plants are about 15 to 20 cm tall, they can be pinched, meaning the main stem is shortened. This will make the zinnias bushier and produce more flowers.
Use: cut flower Food for insects
Cut flower: Zinnias should only be pruned when the stem is stable and strong enough to support the bloom. Grasp the stem 20 cm below the bloom and shake it gently. If the stem is limp or bends sharply, it's not ready for pruning. If it remains upright, it's ready to harvest. Zinnias can last up to a week in a vase if the water is changed regularly.
