Decoration tip for after work
A basket full of sunshine in no time.

What an old wire basket is good for...
Finally, it's time to go home! And as a reward, we make a quick stop at our favorite florist around the corner or the garden center. Since we can't get enough of the sunshine these days, we quickly pack up some bright yellow ranunculus and pansies (ask for moss cushions and don't forget the ivy!). When we get home, there's once again no pot available – so what do we do? The wire basket will have to do. And as you can see, it suits its new role well.
And this is how it's done quickly:
5-6 horned violets (Viola cornuta)
3 ranunculus (Ranunculus asiaticus)
3 Ivy (Hedera helix)
Moss cushions
(potting soil)
The lawn probably still has a few cushions of moss left over from the winter. They'll come in handy now. Otherwise, ask your florist or bring some from the forest. Line the entire wire basket with the moss, making the largest possible pieces – with the green side facing out and the earthy side facing in. Then carefully remove the individual plants from the pot, plucking off some root matting if necessary, and distribute them close together in the basket so that it's nicely filled. Place the ivy plants towards the outside so their tendrils can easily "peek" over the edge. Fill the gaps with some fresh potting soil. If you don't have any soil on hand, fill the gaps with the remaining moss and cover the top. Water the entire spring ensemble thoroughly. Moss retains moisture well, so you can skip the soil in this case. Your after-work decoration is ready, and you can enjoy it the next morning.
